Welcome to the Website for the Liberty Center Local Schools!

As Superintendent of the Liberty Center Local Schools, “Home of the Tigers”, I would like to welcome you to our district website.  This site will provide you with useful information concerning our schools’ activities and events.

Our district currently serves approximately 1,200 pre-school through 12th grade students in Henry County as well as a small portion of Fulton County.  The district currently operates 3 buildings, Liberty Center Elementary school, serving grades PK-4; Liberty Center Middle School, serving grades 5-8, and Liberty Center High School, serving grades 9-12.  Vocational education services are provided through affiliation with the Four County Career Center located in Archbold, Ohio.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission and the Ohio School Facilities Commission, the district is involved in a $42.6 million, PK-12 construction project.  The building is projected to be completed in December, 2017, with the total project completion anticipated to be August 2018.  Ongoing progress of this construction project can be viewed in portions of this website via live webcam.

Our staff continues to work diligently to prepare students to succeed in the 21st Century through updated, challenging curriculum and innovative instructional programming.  In addition, the district will begin a new path through the use of evolving technologies.  Beginning in the fall of 2016, all students in grades 3-12 will be provided with the opportunity to use a district-owned Chromebook as a learning tool, while students in grades K-2 will be using both iPads and laptop computers to enhance their learning experience.

Our district offers a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities designed to provide choices for all students to take an active part in the educational process.

The Liberty Center Local Schools is a founding partner in the Northwest Ohio Virtual Academy (NOVA), which provides our students opportunities for online learning for credit recovery as well as allowing students to gain additional credits via college prep, advanced placement and “College Credit Plus” courses.  The NOVA consortium was made possible through the Ohio Department of Education’s “Straight A Fund” in which the ODE awarded the consortium $5 million to develop this virtual education program.

If you seek additional information concerning our school district, please call my office at 419-533-5133, ext. 5101 or email me at  Thank you for your interest in our schools and the community of Liberty Center, Ohio.

Yours in education,

Tod A. Hug, Ed.D.
