Educational Philosophy
Teaching is a noble profession. We are here to serve the needs of the students. Obviously, nobody goes into teaching for the money as virtually all other professions pay much more. We are here due to a love of children and a desire to make a difference in their lives. Change is a constant in our world. The world, and workplace, our students will face will be much different than what we faced upon graduation. Our schools and staff must seek to continually change and improve in order to serve the needs of our students in an ever changing world.

Biographical Information
My wife, Mary, and I live in Delta, Ohio. We have raised six children. Mary is originally from the Delta-Liberty Center area and is the daughter of Bob and Nina Travis. She and her siblings grew up on the family farm on Road B in Fulton County and attended PDY. Our son, Isaac, and his wife Lindy now own the family homestead where they are raising their son, Travis. We have eight grandchildren in all. Our other children live around Ohio, Indiana and Arizona.
Most of my teaching career has been in Ohio. Mary and I did spend two years in Athens, Greece where I taught in the American Community Schools. This provided a great opportunity to travel and learn to appreciate other cultures and peoples. During my career I consciously sought to have a variety of teaching and counseling experiences at various grade levels, both elementary and junior high. This helped prepare me to better fulfill my responsibilities as a principal.
In June 2007 I retired from the Findlay City Schools. Mary and I began plans to relocate back to the Delta-Liberty Center area to be closer to family. In August when the opening at Liberty Center occurred I couldn’t resist the opportunity and decided to apply. Short retirement… but it’s a great place to be and I’m having fun!
Personal Interests
I enjoy puttering around the house doing various remodeling projects. We have had three homes we have restored/remodeled before returning to our home area of Delta-Liberty Center. I also enjoy reading science fiction and adventure novels. Though there are no clubs in the immediate area I am a lifelong member of the Lions Club.
