LIBERTY CENTER LOCAL BOARD OF EDUCATION
Regular Meeting Report
Tuesday- April 17, 2012

Official action taken at last night’s board of education meeting:
1. Adopted the agenda

2. Approved the minutes of the March 19, 2012 regular board meeting and the
March 27, 2012 special board meeting.

3. Accepted the financial reports as of March 31, 2012:
• Monthly Bank Reconciliation
• FIN Sum
• Check Register
• Budget to Actual Report
• Investment Report

4. Approved the disposal of old electronic items that were recycled.

5. Accepted with Thanks the following donation: 
$200.00 from Napoleon Physical Therapy to the Athletic Dept.

6. Approved the Appropriation Modifications.

7. Approved Mr. Readshaw and 25 students to attend the State FFA Convention in Columbus, OH, from May 3-May 4, 2012.

8. Approved the Resolution to Align with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center.

9. Approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Liberty Center Board of Education and Garmenn/Miller & Associates, Inc. for profession architectural services (related to the OSFC project) from July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. The total cost of these services will be $12,000.00 and will be paid on a quarterly basis to Garmenn/Miller.

10. Went into executive session  to discuss personnel, employment and compensation of personnel, and a potential property purchase.

11. Accepted the resignation of Bradley Jerew, Director of Bands, effective at the end of the 2011-12 school year.

12. Approved the resignation of Dottie Kalisik from her cafeteria aide position effective
April 13, 2012.

13. Non-renewed all supplemental contracts at the end of the 2011-12 school year.

16. Awarded Mary Jane Murrey a three year contract as the School Nurse

18. Granted extended day contracts for the 2012-13 school year for the following certified employees:

19. Awarded Merry Giesige a continuing contract.

20. Approved Cynthia Thompson as a 2012 Summer tutor for a high school student, at a maximum of 30 hours (5 hours per week), at the rate of $20.00 per hour.

21.  Approved Stephen Doseck as a classroom teacher on a one-year limited contract, contingent upon completion of all necessary forms. His salary will be at Bachelor’s + 135, Step 0, pending receipt of transcripts confirming hours, on the Liberty Center Local Schools Certified Salary Schedule, per the LCCTA Negotiated Agreement, for School Year 2012-13. Employee benefits will be provided as per the LCCTA Negotiated Agreement.

22. Approved Mel Rentschler, High School Principal, to serve as the interim superintendent if needed, based upon the start date of the new superintendent.
